What can I expect in an Escape Room?

An escape room is a themed room(s) full of puzzles, riddles and tricky tasks you and your team must work together to solve. You are NEVER locked in and can exit at any time.

How Many people can play a room?

We have a minimum of two players for each room and maximums vary based on the experience. All maximums are posted on our room descriptions. We will not allow more than 8 participants in any room, under any circumstance for safety. Any number of participants over the maximum will hinder the overall experience and cause your group to feel crowded.

Do you offer any discounts?

We currently offer 10% off to all Active duty military and veterans *Discount applied to booking after verification by showing a valid ID* We also offer a 15% group discount when booking 10 or more participants for corporate events or birthdays. Note:We do not allow more than 8 participants in a single experience, multiple rooms would need to be booked* We do offer specials from time to time, be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram to take advantage of them!

Do you offer corporate Event bookings?

Yes, Escape rooms are Perfect for Team building and corporate events. Please give us a call to see what availability we have based on staffing. We can accommodate larger parties for private events before or during our normal operating hours. *Private party room is available to rent*

What if I need to cancel my booking?

To ensure a fair experience and availability to all of our guests we do not offer refunds. You must contact us 24-hours in advance of your booked time to cancel and we will process a customer credit. All customer credits are good for one year and allow you to re-book online when ready. If you call to cancel less than 24-hours in advance we cannot guarantee a customer credit.

When do I need to arrive?

All players should arrive 15-minutes prior to booking time to complete all safety waivers. If you have already completed your waivers online we ask that you arrive 5-minutes early to lock up your personal items and use facilities. We like to ensure all rooms start promptly at booked time.

What if I am late?

Please reach out to our team immediately if you know you will be arriving late. If you give us at least a 2-hour notice we will allow you to reschedule SAME-DAY. If you are more than 15-min late without notifying us your booking will be cancelled, no refund or customer credit will be provided. If you arrive and want to play your experience, you will only be given the remaining time of your booked time-frame. If you are more than 30-min late we will NOT allow you to play at that time as it will hinder the experience. We must ensure that other parties scheduled after you are not impacted.

Do you charge for children?

We do not charge for children UNDER 5 years of age as all puzzles are suited for 6 years of age and up. We do not allow strollers in the experiences or food/drinks such as bottles and snacks. You must ensure you are watching children at all times for safety reasons.

Do you offer bookings outside of your normal hours?

We are flexible! If you are every looking to play an experience outside of our normal hours pleased email, or message us on Google/Facebook/Instagram, and a team member will work with you!

Can people be removed from your experiences?

We never want to do this however, at anytime if a team member witnesses drunk, disorderly, or harmful behavior, or witnesses participants damaging our props or experiences intentionally they do have permission to remove them. We want all of our customers to have fun, but your safety as well as others is of the utmost importance. If we have witnessed you damaging a prop after guidance against it, the card you booked with will be charged for a replacement.

What if i book something by mistake?

Please notify us immediately if you book something by mistake online. We will do our best to accommodate, but if we are advised less than one hour from booked time (mistake or not) we cannot guarantee a refund or customer credit.

What happens if I walk out of an experience?

If for any reason you walk out, or do not finish an experience for any reason, no refunds will be provided. Please contact us at checkmateescaperooms@gmail.com with any concerns so we can address it immediately.
